EVILE: New Audio Interview With OL DRAKE Available
March 23, 2010Rock My Monkey recently conducted an interview with guitarist Oliver "Ol" Drake of British thrashers EVILE. The chat is now available for streaming using the audio player below.
EVILE recently released a digital-only single of the band's cover of PANTERA's "Cemetery Gates".
EVILE recorded "Cemetery Gates" in 2009 for a special Metal Hammer "Dimebag" Darrell Abbott (PANTERA, DAMAGEPLAN) tribute album. Tragically, it was also the last song the band recorded with its late bassist, Mike Alexander.
"Cemetery Gates" is available now exclusively on iTunes, and also features a special version of EVILE's track "Time No More", with Japanese vocals/lyrics.
Commented Ol Drake: "Finally, people who don't have the amazing Dimebag tribute issue, put out by Metal Hammer, can now download our cover of 'Cemetery Gates' on iTunes. Not only that, but you can also get the Japanese version of 'Time No More', only recently available on the Japanese release of 'Infected Nations'.
"It was such an honor to be a part of the Dimebag tribute, and doing this track really meant a lot to Mike.
"I recently had the pleasure of speaking to Rex [Brown, PANTERA bassist] about a few things, from the 'Gates' cover which he enjoyed, to coping with a loss."
